The Discovery Programme has been in existence since 1991 and during that period has amassed a large amount of archaeological and landscape data as part of its various projects. A new Work Plan 2018-21 was adopted by the organization’s Board in December 2017 and one of the plan’s priorities is to make this accumulated data accessible to researchers. To achieve this, a Digital Archivist will be offered a 6-month contract for service beginning in January 2018 to undertake and complete the following tasks:
● Produce a catalogue of the Discovery Programme’s data collection
● Work with the CEO and Technology Manager on improving accessibility to data sets
● Provide guidance material to enable potential users identify and access the Discovery Programme's data including metadata
The Digital Archivist will be based in the Discovery Programme’s offices at 6 Mount Street Lower for the duration of the contract. A fee of €15,000 will be paid on a staged basis as various tasks are completed.
