Publications

The Discovery Programme issues three types of publications: (1) monographs on major research topics; (2) an in-house journal Discovery Programme Reports which contains interim reports on the main projects, reports on smaller projects and reports on miscellaneous related research; (3) a variety of educational, ‘tourist’ and ‘popular’ publications, as well as publications arising from various collaborative projects. Originally our monographs were published by the Royal Irish Academy but in recent years these have been issued through a number of commercial publishing houses. Discovery Programme Reports does not have a fixed schedule of publication but is issued as and when suitable material is complete.
