Outreach

During its work in Kinale, the Project has formed close links with local groups and communities.  As part of this, staff members have made several presentations about both the general archaeology of the area and the site. Talks were given to local schools and community groups, as well as to the Longford Travellers’ summer school for children. Our site open days were well attended, despite the remote location.  In 2005 Dag Hammar demonstrated the art of flint-knapping, and anyone brave enough to try it was invited!  Children were asked to draw their impressions of the site and Mesolithic life.
